Managing The Toronto Star's Instagram
Along with two other social media producers, I curate The Toronto Star's Instagram account. We post photos daily, taken by Toronto Star photographers or from our wire. When I started at The Star, the account had about 5,000 followers and now we have 46,700 and growing. All our photos are automatically posted to Twitter.
Some of the daily additions: editorial cartoon, daily animal photo, throwbacks and the photo of the day. We track our analytics biweekly to see what our readers are engaging with the most.
We also use Instagram as a way to promote our monthly Star Touch Photo Contest, which offers $5,000 in prizes.
