FB Live moderation with Daniel Dale and the Toronto Star

Ahead of the 2016 U.S. presidential election, the Toronto Star hosted a Facebook Live chat with our Washington correspondent, Daniel Dale. Readers were invited to ask questions about his time covering the campaign, particularly his Donald Trump fact-checks, which defined our coverage. The 30-minute live chat had huge engagement and questions from readers around the world.

I pitched, produced and moderated the live chat with Dale. One of the main challenges was coordinating a video with a reporter who has an incredibly busy and changing schedule. Ahead of time, we had Dale shoot a video promo on his phone, which was then sent to our video team to edit into a teaser. This allowed us to pre-promote the Live and get questions ahead of time.
